She became immensely sad when Carol disappeared to the point that anything Samson did reminded her of Carol, showing how loving a friend she is. Despite her jabs at Samson's appearance she was still nice enough to let him stay with her on the grounds he stay with the dog. It should be noted that Alex Ahad posted an image during Eliza's development of Samson's old host, Delilah, who is seen wielding identical hairpin blades to that of Filia in the concept art.īefore her amnesia Filia was a typical teenage girl: Shallow, sassy, and a bit smug. While the glasses were removed, the hairpin swords are apparently still intended to be a part of Filia's arsenal in the future. It also states she’d fight with the “memories of fighting styles” but it’s unknown from who. An old livejournal also states she was gonna use barber tools in her fighting style but these tools were just changed into being shapeshifted parts of Samson. Other early concepts have shown pre-Samson Filia with short hair in a different style and wearing glasses, post-Samson she often is seen wielding two swords that resemble hairpins. An alternate version of Samson having a design resembling features of another, related concept was optioned as a possible DLC character during the Skullgirls Indiegogo fundraising campaign. This design corresponded with a different plotline from the now canon version of Filia, in which Samson had eaten her parents, presumably using her body to achieve an unrevealed goal. The original design for Filia was as a puppet upon Samson's back. Regardless she has been prominently used in most of the game's advertisements and cover artworks. This is probably because she was originally intended to be the POV character for the player. She was named the "protagonist/main character" of Skullgirls, although other characters such as Marie, Parasoul, Valentine, Double, Peacock, and Painwheel all have more major roles than Filia herself. She was the first character made playable in a demo of Skullgirls when the game was being made. She also holds a staff, the top of which is a microphone, and the bottom juts out to look like a scythe with the eye of Horus on it.Filia is one of the playable characters in Skullgirls. Her outfit is paired with a large ankh which is incorporated into the dress. AppearanceĮliza is elaborately dressed in a beautiful deep purple dress with the same colored shoes. The best way to describe Eliza is as a balanced character capable of playing both zoning and rushdown. She has a skeleton mode where Sekhmet comes out to fight, and in this mode, she loses health, but she can get it back in her normal form. PlaystyleĮliza is difficult to pin down in terms of a playstyle. Also, it is evident that Eliza doesn’t maltreat her subordinates. Therefore, she tends to be merciful towards parasites as she is with Samson and Leviathan, whom she wants to join her team. However, Eliza does care about the image of parasites as she believes that they are more evolved beings who should be treated better. She isn’t a fan of philanthropy and only does the blood drive to feed herself. This was evidenced in how she killed Cerebella. Eliza is more than happy to kill anyone whom she deems standing in her way. She appreciates her beauty and has a god complex believing that she should be the sole ruler of the world. PersonalityĮliza is a narcissist who believes that she is the greatest being alive. Then Eliza prepares to confront the Medicis and end them so that she can once again be feared around the world. She defeats Filia and locks her up in hopes of extracting Samson into a more ‘suitable’ host. When she is confronted by Filia, Eliza tries to convince Filia’s parasite, Samson, to join her, but Samson refuses, still blaming her in part for the death of his former host, Delilah. She is eventually successful in getting the Skull Heart and proceeds to destroy it. Eliza had no intention of getting the Skull Heart for the Medicis, and when Cerebella finds out, Eliza kills her. She is followed by Cerebella, who is there as a babysitter of sorts. Since they know her secret, Eliza feels bound to do the Medicis' bidding. While singing at the Den, she is called to meet with the Medicis, and in the meeting, she is threatened unless she obtains the Skull Heart for the Medicis. She has been with Sekhmet so long that the two are more or less the same person now. Therefore, there is little known about her past. Eliza is very old but is able to keep her youthful appearance thanks to the ample amounts of blood which she consumes.
